Mr. Mergenthaler received his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from the University of Akron in 1978 and his law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1981. Mr. Mergenthaler practices in the areas of civil litigation, criminal and traffic defense and representation of employers in employment and workers' compensation matters.

He has been a speaker at Ohio Municipal League Mayor's Court Training Seminars. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute, Ohio State Bar Association and the Alternative Dispute Resolution sections of the Columbus Bar Association and American Bar Association. Mr. Mergenthaler serves on the Board of Directors for the Optimist Club of Columbus and is a charter member and officer of the Knights of Columbus Council #11445.
