Mr. Smith received his undergraduate degree from Kenyon College, cum laude, in 1979 and his law degree, with honors, from The Ohio State University in 1982. Mr. Smith concentrates his practice in the business, commercial, banking and securities areas, and has spoken on business and securities issues to various groups.

Mr. Smith is the past Chairman of the Business Law Committee of the Columbus Bar Association. Mr. Smith also currently serves as a member of the Ohio State and American Bar Associations (Member, Section on Corporation, Banking and Business Law) and is a member of the Securities Law Committee of the Columbus Bar Association. Mr. Smith is also a member of the Take-Over Advisory Committee of the Ohio Division of Securities.
